It is with a heavy heart that I write this blog post today. As a Family Photographer in Greenville SC, My dear friend, Aaron, passed last June, and the world is a little dimmer without his bright smile and infectious laughter. We had known each other since we were leaders in the Youth Ministry at our church and shared countless memories as fellow Deacons that will forever be etched in my mind.
Aaron was the kind of person who could light up a room with his presence. He had a contagious enthusiasm for life that drew people to him like a moth to a flame. Whether we were playing table games against our wives which we rarely lost (smile). Aaron’s zest for adventure and his unwavering spirit were always on full display. We saw that during our Aruba trip which I will write about soon.
Beyond his laughter, Aaron was also a deeply caring and compassionate individual. He had a way of making everyone around him feel valued and important, always taking the time to listen and offer a word of encouragement or support. His kindness and empathy touched the lives of so many, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Just so you know my friend, we still have Frieda as we said we would. She and Judy had breakfast after Church this morning and she will be joining us for dinner today. She also has a girl travel group as well.
Conclusion:
As I reflect on the life of my dear friend Aaron, I am filled with a bittersweet mixture of emotions. While the pain of his loss is palpable, I am also overwhelmed with gratitude for the time we shared and the memories we created together with our wives. Aaron’s spirit will live on through the impact he had on those around him, and I am honored to have been able to call him my friend. Though he may be gone, he will never be forgotten, and his legacy of love, kindness, and adventure will continue to inspire all who knew him. Rest in Peace my good FRIEND!!
Aaron always had joy, love compassion that exploded out of him whenever he came into my presence. His smile was electric and intoxicating. He always had a word from God that met you right where you needed it. Gone but not forgotten 🕊️🕊️♥️
Aaron is one of a kind that morning is still stuck in my head and it’s still hard for me to see that room. God will give me peace and I will always remember that smile and teaching me to play domino’s. I want you to know that your teaching was not in vein because I beat my brothers because of you, love and miss you Aaron.
Thank you for sharing Eddie. We miss him so much. I will cherish our many chats and laughs as we ministered together with the Athletic Ministry. I will forever miss my friend and big brother!

Wow. So sorry to hear of his passing. I am grateful to have had the chance to cross paths with Deacon Woods during my time serving at and attending Bethlehem Baptist Church. My sincerest condolences to both the Woods and Bethlehem Families.
Aaron is truly missed. I enjoyed our talks while greeting and his smile was contagious. Such sweet and kind gentleman. May God continue to bless his wife and family. Awesome tribute ❤️🙏🏾
I was blessed and fortunate to have known 1 of God’s angels that walked this earth spreading his joy, love, wisdom and his smile. We shared a lot of time together working on the BBC Safety Team together. Deac Aaron was a great leader and a very compassionate person. It was his mission to make BBC a safe place to worship for all of its members and now we strive to keep his mission alive. Deac Aaron we want let you down and we know you are watching over us all as we serve BBC weekly. I love you brother and you will always be in my heart. I know you are serving on God’s Safery Team with distinction.
What a beautiful tribute. Aaron was a delight and was the safe person at every time his path crossed with my family and I. May his loved ones continue to cherish his memory by honoring his legacy.
As others have said, he will truly be missed. Serving on the athletic and safety team ministry at Bethlehem with Aaron was always a good time. Aaron was all about business, while having a good time getting things done. Great man of God gone to soon.
A true leader and servant! Well done! We are so thankful for his love and leadership! Deacon Woods will live on forever in our hearts!
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. Truly he was a man of Great Faith, Wisdom and Knowledge. Aaron, you are miss on this side but I know you’re being loved on the other side. Take your rest and we’ll meet again in that Great Getting Up Morning.
What a beautiful tribute Eddie for truly a beautiful soul. I can only merely echo the sentiments shared by others. My heart still remains full and heavy over his passing. Aaron truly was a servant until the very end.
We saw him at a distance but before we saw him we saw the brightest smile! But this time last year we saw him up close and personal early each morning as we sat on the Beach in Aruba as he did his 4 mile walk! He’d stop and chat for a quick moment and then move on leaving as we watched in the sun light his perseverance in his daily walk.. We did not imagine that a few months later he would be gone but I can imagine each morning he’s somewhere walking the Heavenly streets of glory with a smile so bright the stars are ashamed to look. We see you Sir and we see the brightest star in the night sky! Good night!
